The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been intense.
The first season introduces a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.
The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.
That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
